It can be hard to stick to a regular meal plan when you travel. By the time you sit down at a meal, that bread and butter might look irresistible, but you have to say No! Instead, order a healthy appetizer if you can't wait for the main meal. Go for a salad or something light, like sear tuna or boiled shrimp.
For your main meal, go with lean, grilled meats. A grilled chicken salad can be both filling and healthy. A lean cur of beef with the fat trimmed works fine. Ask for your fish to be grilled without salt or butter. Stay away from fried foods.
It goes without saying that you need to avoid the fat and sugar loaded desserts like ice cream or the delicious fudge brownie. If you simply have to satisfy your sweet tooth, go for frozen yogurt or sherbet. You'll still be getting a lot of sugar, but without all the fat. Be creative and go for a nonfat cappuccino.
